Boston, MA -- No. 11 Endicott traveled to No. 9 MIT for a battle between NECVA New England rivals. The Gulls relied on solid passing and defense to upset the Techies 3-0. EC avenged an early season loss to MIT while also snapping their 16-match win-streak and handing them their first loss of the season. The game scores were 30-27, 30-26 and 30-21.
Jeremy Fontaine continued his offensive tear for the Gulls, knocking down a team high 19 kills. Russ Friedland dished out 38 assists and also led EC with 4 aces. Brandon Ecker played a terrific match, picking up 16 digs and passing 24 error-free serve receives.
Having played and won four matches in the last three days, the Gulls will now take a brief break before their next match. They will return to action on Sunday when they will host No. 12 Vassar College at 1:00 PM.
