Nashua, NH -- 4th Ranked Endicott fell to No. 1 Rivier College 1-3 in the ECAC Semifinals today. After dropping the first game, the Gulls rallied to win game two before dropping the final two games. Today's loss concludes another record breaking season for the Gulls as they end the season with a 20-10 overall record finishing the season with a program record .667 win %. EC was making their second consecutive post-season tournament appearance in the ECAC's and the contest was the final match in the careers of Brandon Ecker and Russ Friedland.
The Gulls received numerous solid performances today. Three players picked up double-digit kill performances with Eddie Marchand picking up a team high 15 and Brandon Ecker and Eric Hunter contributing 12 and 10 respectively. Russ Friedland handed out 37 assists. Allan DelValle picked up a team high eight digs and George Chapell handed out four blocks in the effort.
Today's match was the final contest for graduate student, Brandon Ecker and senior, Russ Friedland. Over their four years, the team compiled an overall record of 67 - 46 (.593) and a conference record of 51 - 15 (.773) with both of those being four year bests for the program. They also saw the program achieve its first national ranking, take it's first trip to California and qualify for consecutive post season tournaments. In addition, both players made significant contributions to the program over their four years and have left their mark on the programs record books.
