BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Western New England, 9-0, in conference action on Monday evening at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
The Gulls took all three doubles slots in reverse order as the No. 3 pairing of Brayden Allen (North Kingstown, R.I.) / James Zeolie (Amherst, N.H.) got the match started with an 8-3 victory.
Oliver Pope (Dartmouth, Mass.) / George Danes (Old Lyme, Conn.) followed an 8-5 triumph at No. 2, while Antonio Marsallo (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) / Julian Richtarich (Naples, Fla.) turned in a gritty 8-7 (7-3) win at No. 1 to complete the sweep.
Singles featured victories by Marsallo at No. 1 (6-2, 6-1), Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany) at No. 2 (6-3, 6-2), Hudson De Risi (Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y.) at No. 3 (6-3, 6-1), Zeolie at No. 4 (6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 7-6 (10-5)), Matt Mittleman (Loudonville, N.Y.) at No. 5 (6-2, 6-4), and Will Bierwirth (Hingham, Mass.) at No 6 (6-2, 6-3).

"Conditions were a bit challenging with the wind, along with playing a scrappy opponent," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "I'm very encouraged with how we handled our emotions after not executing in certain spots today."
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls notched their first shutout this season.
- Marsallo and Richtarich are 2-0 in doubles on the year (1-0 at No. 1, 1-0 at No. 3).
- Mittleman earned his first collegiate win in singles.
