Springfield Bests Men’s Tennis, 7-2

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team fell to Springfield, 7-2, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at the Appleton Tennis Courts.

Endicott picked up one point in doubles as the No. 1 pairing of Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany) / Antonio Marsallo (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) claimed an 8-4 victory at the flight.

Meanwhile, in singles, Oliver Pope (Dartmouth, Mass.) turned in a 6-3, 6-4 triumph at the No. 3 position to wrap up the highlights for the Gulls.

"This was a nice first match for our men's team. Our student-athletes put in a strong offseason this summer and today's match showcased plenty of positives for us to build off of," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo.

  • Pope earned his 12th career singles victory (second at No. 3).
  • Kadel and Marsallo picked up their first doubles victory as a pairing.

Endicott (0-1) will compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Tournament on Friday, September 30. Springfield (2-0) hosts Stonehill this Thursday at 3:30 PM.
