Frazao Named College Sports Communicators Academic All-American

CSC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott senior Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) has been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America® Third Team, as announced by the organization yesterday.

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Program, formerly named CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America), has honored more than 40,000 student-athletes since 1952 with the prestigious title of Academic All-American for their outstanding academic and athletic achievements.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets.

In 2023, there were 31,464 men's soccer student-athletes competing in the sport across 1,035 NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA institutions.

Frazao is just one of 126 student-athletes from that pool to receive the title of Academic All-American, as voted on by CSC members this year.

The 126 student-athletes honored, including Frazao, represent 0.4-percent of the men's soccer student-athlete population.

Frazao was the only student-athlete from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) to earn CSC Academic All-America®, only one of four from New England, and is just the third Gull to garner the award in program history.

Meanwhile, the Division III team ranked second among all divisions with a 3.87 cumulative grade point average (GPA).

ACADEMIC RESUME

Frazao currently sports a 3.91 GPA as an international business major with a minor in Spanish.

His academic honors include multiple Dean's List selections, induction into Sigma Beta Delta and the Endicott Scholars Program, United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American Third Team accolades, two College Sports Communicators All-District and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region nods, and three CCC Academic All-Conference honors.

Frazao is a member of EC L.E.A.D., is one of two captains for the men's soccer program, and aids the coaching staff as team manager.

In his role as team manager, Frazao oversees community service efforts for the squad, organizes team fundraising initiatives, enhances recruiting visits by meeting with prospective Gulls, and coordinates social media strategy for the team account, while also collaborating with ECGulls' social media accounts as well.

The men's soccer program has engaged in community service hours with Big Brother Big Sister and LEAP for Education, primarily serving as mentors for the local youth in Beverly and Salem, through his work in the area.

Meanwhile, Frazao's experiential learning opportunities are highlighted by his time with the Barnum Financial Group.

Frazao recently completed the advisor scholar internship program with the group and won first place honors in the program's Shark Tank competition for his ideas on reviving their social media campaigns.

He also sat in on client meetings, orchestrated portfolio construction, and made life insurance sales pitches.

As part of his wealth strategies internship, Frazao assisted 40 financial advisors, entered clients' financial data into eMoney, utilized Salesforce, and improved clients' financial outlooks by entering and modeling scenarios for them including retirement plans, stock options, and insurance.

ATHLETIC RESUME

Frazao's athletic achievements on the field this season are equally as impressive.

The senior midi compiled nine goals (one game-winner) and five assists for 23 points in 19 games played, all starts.
