Sheehan Sinks Concordia (Tex.) With Game-Winner Late In Second Half, 1-0

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott freshman midfielder Aidan Sheehan (Arlington, Mass.) tucked home his first career goal in the 73rd minute to lift the Gulls past Concordia (Tex.), 1-0, on Friday night at Hempstead Stadium.

Tiago Frazao (Trumbull, Conn.) initiated the game-winner when he won a second ball of a goal kick and slipped a through ball to the left wing for Sheehan.

The freshman midfielder wasted little time making his name known by sprinting up the flank to gather Frazao's pass before slipping a bounding ball into the lower right corner of the net for the lead.

In goal, Kevin Pelletier (Topsfield, Mass.) stopped two shots to notch his second career clean sheet.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Tonight was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
  • First season-opening victory since 2013.
  • Frazao dished out his eighth career assist.
