Gulls Take Second Overall At R.I.C. Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Endicott golf team fired rounds of 325 and 328 to finish second overall in the two-day R.I.C. Invitational in Providence, R.I. to notch their fourth second place finish of the year.  The Gulls topped third place Husson by five strokes and finished behind NESCAC foe Middlebury.  

Senior co-captain Jackson Wyman (South Freeport, Maine) led the squad as he finished in 5th place individually with a combined score of 159.  Wyman finished just eight strokes out of first as he followed up his first round 78 with a second round of 81.  Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.), Brian Gallo (Trumbull, Conn.) and Ian Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) rounded out Endicott members that finished in the top 20 out of 70 golfers.  Austin Teal finished with a score of 164 after shooting identical rounds of 82 which helped him finish in 11th.  Gallo, who finished with a score of 166, was able to cut his first round score of 87 by eight strokes and shoot a 79 on day two of the invitational.  Ian Teal finished just one stroke back with a combined score of 167 which placed him in a tie for 20th.

Jake Rand (Winthrop, Mass.) rounded out the scoring in 28th place as he shot a two-round total of 170 after notching scores of 84 and 86.  All of the Gulls golfers finished in the top 30 which helped the team mount a comeback after finishing Saturday in fourth place overall.  

Endicott is now off for a week as they return to competition on April 12th and 13th for a two-day tournament.  The Gulls are travelling to the Allendale Country Club in Dartmouth, Mass. for the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational. This is the first of four remaining regular season competitions before the Gulls host the CCC Championships at Essex Country Club on April 27th and 28th in Manchester-By-The-Sea, Mass.
