Lynn Duo Garner Postseason Awards, Hill Named CCC Rookie Of the Year

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's basketball student-athletes Jeff Hill (Lynn, Mass.) and Jalen Echevarria (Lynn, Mass.) have earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason honors, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Hill was named the CCC Rookie of the Year to headline the duo.

He is the sixth student-athlete in program history to receive conference Rookie of the Year accolades joining Echevarria (2019-20), Andre Makris '15 (2011-12), Jamal Francis '02 (1998-99), and Endicott Hall of Famers Nemanja Marinkovic '07 (2003-04) and Eric Simonelli '01 (1997-98) on the list.

Meanwhile, Echeverria claimed his second career All-CCC First Team selection to round out the list of award winners for the Gulls this season.


JEFF HILL | FR. | LYNN, MASS.

In 25 games played (20 starts), Hill averaged 13.7 points per game (41.4 FG%, 34.4 3PT%, 88.3 FT%), 2.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.0 steals in 27.2 minutes per contest.

Hill's CCC ranks this season include the following categories/numbers: points (343, 17th), points per game (17th), points per 40 minutes (20.2, 17th), field goals made (121, 18th), field goal percentage (25th), three-point field goals made (33, 23rd), three-point field goal percentage (18th), free throws made (68, 10th), and free throw percentage (3rd).

Hill also produced 20 double-digit scoring games, including two contests where he eclipsed the 20-point plateau, and led the team in scoring six times.

He set his career-high against then No. 14 Middlebury with a 24-point effort on 10-of-17 shooting from the floor (58.8%) on November 27, 2022.

Of the six Rookie of the Year honorees in program history, Hill's freshman campaign ranks third all-time in points per game behind Simonelli (16.8) and Echevarria (15.2).


JALEN ECHEVARRIA | SR. | LYNN, MASS.

In 27 games played (all starts), Echevarria averaged 19.6 points per game (42.4 FG%, 28.7 3PT%, 81.5 FT%), 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals in 33.9 minutes per contest.

Echevarria's CCC ranks this season include the following categories/numbers: points (529, 2nd), points per game (3rd), points per 40 minutes (23.1, 8th), field goals made (188, 1st), field goal percentage (23rd), three-pointers made (56, 6th), three-point field goal percentage (30th), free throws made (97, 4th), free throw percentage (6th), assists (80, 9th), and steals (34, 12th).

He also registered 10 or more points in 23 games, 20-plus points in 12 games, and 30 or more in three contests including a career-high 35 points against Suffolk on January 21, 2023.

Additionally, Echevarria led the Gulls in scoring in 16 out of the 27 matchups on the schedule this season.

Echevarria currently ranks fourth all-time in scoring at Endicott with 1,500 points in 85 games.


YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott posted a 17-10 overall record and a 12-6 mark in league play. The Gulls advanced to the CCC Semifinals, eventually falling to tournament runner-up Western New England, 79-71.
