Chris Millette has been named Head Coach for the Endicott College men's basketball team as announced by Director of Athletics Larry Hiser yesterday morning. "We are pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Millette," stated Hiser. "Chris came in prepared and showed a level of enthusiasm that blew the search committee away. Chris has demonstrated his ability to fit in and to thrive in a variety of settings. Having coached on both coasts, he's created opportunities for himself and has proven his ability to excel. We are excited and enthused about the addition of Chris to Endicott's coaching staff."
A hard-working and well-established assistant coach, Millette most recently helped guide Brandeis to its most successful season in the past 10 years, with a record of 14-11. Millette has also shown a lot of success in recruiting. Three newcomers at Brandeis this year received All-UAA honors with one of them garnering Rookie-of-the-Year status. Prior to his stint at Brandeis, Millette coached at Tufts University for two years. Again, the recruits that came in under Millette are now having tremendous success. Tufts finished this past season at 16-10, 7-2 in conference play.
"I'm extremely excited to come to a program that has a winning attitude and proven athletic success. I am also very excited to be join the Endicott community where everyone from students to the president is very involved and excited with athletics and men's basketball," stated Millette. "Endicott has top notch academic programs to go along with an amazing athletic tradition. I am certainly excited to continue that tradition."
Millette takes over a Gull program that former Coach Mike Plansky built into a top New England team. The Gulls are two-time Commonwealth Coast Conference Champions and have posted back-to-back 20+ win seasons and received bids to the NCAA's in both seasons.
Millette received his masters in education from Tufts University in 2003. A 1999 graduate of Boston College, Millette earned his BA in communications. A former Hampton, NH native, Millette now lives in Boston.
