Beverly, MA- Endicott guard Josh Oxton (Center Harbor, NH) and Wentworth forward Frankie Hall share Commonwealth Coast Player of the Week honors in men's basketball, the conference announced on Monday. Oxton picked up the honor after pacing the Gulls to a 3-0 record last week. "He played like an all-league player this week and it resulted in three wins for us," Head Coach Michael Plansky commented.
Oxton had a 28-point effort vs. Bates and a 26-point effort against Eastern Connecticut. He averaged 21 points per game while shooting 63% (22-for-35) from the field. "Josh had a tremendous week as we needed him to pick up his overall play due to Zach Ellis dealing with the flu," Coach Plansky said.
Last season, Oxton became the school's all-time assist leader with 308. He currently leads the team in assists with 33. He is second in points (138) and steals (12). "Josh is such a talented guard we want him looking to attack at all times because we believe he is an all-league player for us," Coach Plansky said.
The Gulls post an overall record of 6-4, 2-1 in the CCC. EC hosts conference member, University of New England (4-7, 0-4 CCC) tonight at 8PM
