Beverly, MA - Endicott guard Josh Oxton (Center Harbor, NH) and Salve Regina guard Matt Coute were named Commonwealth Coast Co-Player's of the Week in men's basketball, the conference announced on Monday. This marks the third time Oxton has earned this honor.
The senior continued his impressive season, leading the Gulls to another pair of wins last week. Oxton scored 21 points in the Gulls victory vs. Eastern Nazarene, which also included his 1,000th career point. He is the ninth player in school history to achieve that milestone. Oxton's 20 points, including 6-for-6 from the charity stripe, helped Endicott edge Curry, 86-82.
The Gulls are 16-5 overall, 12-1 in the CCC. The Gulls travel to Wentworth tomorrow night for the first of three remaining regular season games. EC is 2nd in the CCC North Division, and host the first place team, Colby-Sawyer College this Thursday, which is also senior night for the Gulls. Endicott's only Conference loss was against CSC. The game is set to tip-off at 8:00p.m. EC finishes the regular season on Saturday, as they travel to Roger Williams for a 3:00p.m. start.
