CCC SEMIFINALS: No 1 Endicott to Host No. 5 Salve Regina

BEVERLY, Mass. - The top-seeded Endicott women's volleyball team will host fifth-seeded Salve Regina tonight in the semifinals of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament at 7 PM. Here is a preview of tonight's match.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • In the regular season match between these two teams, Endicott traveled to Newport, R.I. and claimed a 3-0 sweep (25-19, 25-21, 25-17).
  • The Gulls are 24-4 all-time against the Seahawks in a series that dates back to 2002.
  • Between the two programs, there were 10 All-CCC honors handed out at the end of the regular season. Representing Endicott were CCC Rookie of the Year/All-CCC First Team Riley Donahue (South Windsor, Conn.), CCC Coach of the Year Tim Byram, First Team honorees Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.), and Second Team member Lauren McGrath (Franklin, Mass.)
  • Dating back to 2013, the Gulls and Seahawks have met five times in the CCC Tournament, with the Gulls going 4-1 in those five matches, including winning each of the last three. 
  • Endicott is 10-1 at home in 2021 while Salve Regina is an impressive 8-3 on the road.

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of tonight's match will take on the winner of No. 2 Roger Williams and No. 6 Western New England for the CCC Championship on Saturday.
