Endicott Remains Undefeated in CCC Play with Sweep of Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. - The Endicott women's volleyball team improved to 17-8 overall on the season and 8-0 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play with a 3-0 sweep of Wentworth on Wednesday night.

Leading the way for the Gulls was Meghan Frederick (Sunapee, N.H.) who posted a match-high nine kills on 15 swings with only two errors to hit .467 on the night. 

Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.) and Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.) tied for second in the match with eight kills each. McAvoy hit a match-high .636 (8-1-11) and added two aces and four digs while Gilbert finish with seven digs and four blocks in the win.

Emma Ruel (Duxbury, Mass.) picked up a match-high 14 digs while Lauren McGrath (Franklin, Mass.) led the way with a match-high 24 assists and chipped in six digs.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Freshman outside Riley Donahue (South Windsor, Conn.) posted seven kills and 10 digs, her eighth double-digit dig effort of the season. 
  • Endicott is now 24-0 all-time against Wentworth dating back to the first matchup in 1999.
  • The Gulls out-hit the Leopards .311 to .049 in the match.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (17-8, 8-0 CCC) finishes the regular season at Western New England on Saturday at 12:00 PM as the Gulls look to wrap up the top seed in the upcoming CCC tournament, while Wentworth (15-12, 6-3 CCC), finishes their regular season at Simmons in non-conference play ahead of the tournament.
