Women’s Tennis Shuts Out Curry, 9-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team blanked Curry College, 9-0, in a league match on Wednesday evening at the South Campus Courts. 

In doubles action, the pairings of Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.)/Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.) and Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.)/Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) picked up wins at the No. 1 (8-0) and No. 2 (8-1) flights, respectively, while the No. 3 position was won by default. 

Meanwhile, after the No. 5 and No. 6 flights were won by default in singles play, the Gulls saw Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.), Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.), Alexi Losano (Saugus, Mass.) and Cameron Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.) claim victories at the No. 1 (6-0, 6-1), No. 2 (6-0, 6-0), No. 3 (6-0, 6-0), and No. 4 (6-0, 6-0) spots, respectively. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Freter remained undefeated in singles action after today's win (2-0 No. 2, 1-0 No. 3, 6-0 No. 4, 1-0 No. 5, 10-0 total).
  • Losano has won her last five straight singles matches.
  • Foley is 4-0 on the season in singles (1-0 No. 4, 2-0 No. 5, 1-0 No. 6).
  • Barnett and Fitzgibbons have rattled off 11 consecutive doubles victories dating back to last season.
  • Barmore and Rahr are 6-0 this year in doubles (2-0 No. 2, 4-0 No. 3).
  • As a team, Endicott has won eight straight matches.

Endicott (9-1, 7-1 CCC) hosts Babson tomorrow in a non-conference matchup at 3 PM Curry (1-12, 0-8 CCC) welcomes UMass Dartmouth to its campus on Tuesday, October 10 at 3 PM.
