BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team posted a 9-0 victory over crosstown rival Salem State University on Thursday evening at the South Campus Tennis Courts. It also marks the third straight shutout win for the Gulls.

Several members of Endicott's freshmen class shined in the victory, as Gretta Hartman (Glastonbury, Conn.), Clare O'Keefe (Lutz, Fla.), Cameron Foley (Lynnfield, Mass.), Emily Licciardi (Haverhill, Mass.), Annie Leys (Middletown, R.I.), and Jennifer Stone (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) all found their way into the win column.

Hartman highlighted the group with a gutsy 6-7 (0-7), 6-1, 10-4 come-from-behind triumph at No. 1 singles, while Licciardi and O'Keefe collected their first collegiate victories in singles (No. 4/No.6). Meanwhile, the doubles pairing of Leys/Stone earned their first-ever wins at No. 3 to round out the group's achievements on the day.

"That was a fun match against our neighbors," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "It was great to see a couple of freshmen register their first collegiate victories, and to watch Gretta complete the win at first singles. She put up a heck of a fight to bounce back from an early deficit and comeback for the victory."
