Women’s Tennis Falls To Merrimack, 6-3

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team lost to NCAA Division II opponent Merrimack College, 6-3, on Friday evening at the Bass River Tennis Club. Today's match was originally scheduled to be played at Merrimack, but was forced indoors due to inclement weather.

In doubles action, Endicott saw Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) and Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine) claim an 8-6 victory at the No. 2 position sandwiched in between Merrimack victories at the No. 1 (8-0) and No. 3 (8-3) flights.

Meanwhile, in singles play, Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.) notched a 1-6, 6-1, 10-7 triumph at No. 2, while Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.) posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 to round out the list of highlights for the Gulls.

"That's the best we've competed as a team top to bottom in the lineup all spring," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "We will look to carry this positive momentum into Sunday's match versus Simmons and try to end the spring with a win."

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
