Women’s Tennis Tops RWU, 5-2

MIDDLETON, Mass. – In a rematch of last year's Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship match, the Endicott women's tennis team defeated Roger Williams University, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon at the Northeast Tennis Center. Today's match was played to decision and was also moved indoors due to inclement weather.

Much like last year's title match, Endicott earned a 2-1 advantage at the conclusion of doubles and used that momentum in singles to its advantage as Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.), Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.), and Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.) notched convincing victories today to clinch the win over the Hawks.

Freter posted a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at the No. 5 position, while Barnett won 6-0, 6-3 in the No. 1 spot, and Bergstein sealed the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 decision at No. 6.
