2016 Women's Tennis Video Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. – With its entire lineup returning from last season, the Endicott women's tennis program will look to capture its sixth straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title in 2016. Here's a preview of the upcoming season, which begins this Thursday at home versus No. 15 regionally ranked Babson at 3:30 p.m.

RETURNING CAST (ROSTER): Endicott's returning lineup includes the reigning CCC Player of the Year in Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.), and the following upperclassmen in seniors Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) and Jamie Zompa (Marlborough, Mass.), and junior Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.).

Additionally, Endicott's core of rising sophomores including Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine), Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.),Bridget Cott (Wilton, Conn.), Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.)Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.), Lauren Rahr (Saugus, Mass.), and Alexi Losano (Saugus, Mass.), along with Barnett, all return after producing a staggering 27-7 singles record and a 32-2 doubles record, combined, in 2015.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR (SCHEDULE): After their season opening match against Babson on Thursday, the Gulls will begin conference play versus Wentworth on Saturday at 12 p.m. on the road. Endicott follows that match with a four-day layoff before playing six matches in 13 days, which includes four CCC matchups. In total, the Gulls play seven of their eight conference matches in the month of September with three of those being at home. For the full schedule click here.

PRESEASON PLAUDITS (POLL): Endicott was selected to repeat as conference champions for the sixth straight season after receiving 77 votes, including six first place votes.

2015 YEAR IN REVIEW: The Gulls captured their fifth straight CCC title with a 5-3 win over Roger Williams at home on October 10. Endicott then went on to make its fifth straight NCAA Tournament appearance against Wilkes University on May 13 before falling to the Colonels, 5-3. Over the last five seasons, the Gulls have compiled a 78-24 (.765) record.
