Women's Tennis Sweeps Bridgewater State, 9-0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team pushed its winning streak to eight straight matches with a 9-0 win over Bridgewater State University in non-conference action on Monday evening.

Endicott received multiple victories from Margot Andreasen (Portland, Maine), Hayley Barnett (Marlboro, N.J.), Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.), and Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) to highlight the match.

"Today's win was a nice way to wrap up the regular season," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Jeremy Howard. "Now we can turn our attention to working on a few things in practice and at NEWITTS to give us the best shot possible at a sixth straight CCC title."

  • With today's victory, the Gulls have won 10 or more matches in a season six years in a row.
  • Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) and Andreasen turned in an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles.
  • Barnett and Alexandra Barmore (Southington, Conn.) posted a gritty 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles, while Fitzgibbons and Rahr registered an 8-3 win at No. 3.
  • In singles, Barnett won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1, while Fitzgibbons claimed a tough 6-1, 3-6, 10-7 triumph at No. 2.
  • Rahr was victorious at No. 3 by a 6-1, 6-2 score and Gillian Freter (Scituate, Mass.) completed a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4.
  • Andreasen also notched a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 5, while Alexi Losano (Saugus, Mass.) put together a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6.

Endicott (10-3) will play in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITT) this Friday.

Bridgewater State (7-5) hosts Eastern Nazarene this Thursday at 3 p.m.
