Endicott Competes At New England Women’s Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament

BEVERLY, Mass. – Last week, the Endicott women's tennis team competed in the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament (NEWITTs), hosted by Mount Holyoke College and Smith College, and posted 13 wins combined between singles and doubles action.

Highlighting the three-day tournament for the Gulls was Lauren Rahr (Waterford, Conn.) as the sophomore claimed three wins in singles play, and also registered three more victories in doubles alongside Reilly Fitzgibbons (Killingworth, Conn.).

Endicott's other doubles pairing of Maxine Bergstein (Hingham, Mass.) and Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) also turned in three wins as the duo earned victories against Springfield College on two separate occasions, and Nichols College.

In singles play, Jamie Zompa (Marlborough, Mass.) notched two victories – one coming against Simmons and the other Nichols, while Bergstein and Fitzgibbons rounded out the list of highlights for the Gulls with wins against Springfield and Gordon, respectively.

Second-seeded Endicott takes on third-seeded Roger Williams in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinals on Tuesday, October 18 in Beverly, Mass. at 1:30 p.m.
