Field Hockey Picked Second in CCC Preseason Poll

 2016 CCC Preseason Poll Release

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. On the brink of beginning her 10th season at the helm of the Endicott field hockey program, head coach Jodi Cipolla's Gulls were picked second in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason poll as announced today by the conference office.

Endicott, last season's CCC runner-up, received 42 points and one first place vote heading into the 2016 season after posting an 11-10 record overall in 2015, which included an 8-4 showing in conference games.

University of New England, the two-time defending CCC Champions, was selected to finish first in the poll as the Nor'easters claimed the remaining first place votes from six out of the seven conference head coaches for 48 total points. Roger Williams earned third place with 31 points, while Salve Regina completed the top four with 27 points.

Western New England ranked No. 5 in the poll with 21 points, Gordon checked in at No. 6 with 20 points, and Nichols was positioned seventh overall (7 points) to round out the conference voting.

Endicott opens the 2016 schedule on Thursday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. on the road at Wheaton College in non-conference action.
