NCAA TOURNAMENT: No. 7 MIT Downs Endicott, 5-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Endicott women's tennis team fell to No. 7 nationally ranked MIT, 5-0, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday afternoon at the DuPont Tennis Courts.

The Engineers only dropped two games in doubles, and turned in shutouts at No. 6 and No. 3 singles, respectively, to advance to the regional final against No. 13 Williams tomorrow at 12 PM.

"We did our best and largely stayed within our system, which is all we can ask for," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "I hope our student-athletes reflect on all that we accomplished this year and find time to relax as we head into the offseason."

  • MIT extended its winning streak to 18 straight matches.
  • The Gulls have won 10 or more matches in 11 consecutive seasons.
