BEVERLY, Mass. — The top-seeded Endicott women's tennis team claimed its second straight Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship title on Saturday afternoon with a hard-fought win, 5-0, over No. 3 Roger Williams at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
The Gulls swept doubles for the eighth time this season to take a commanding 3-0 lead into singles and never looked back.
The doubles pairings for Endicott included Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) / Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) at No. 1 (8-6) Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) / Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas) at No. 2 (8-1), and Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) / Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) at No. 3 (8-1).
From there, Endicott capitalized on the momentum in singles play with Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) winning convincingly at No. 6 (6-0, 6-0) before Guster clinched the championship at No. 2 (6-1, 6-2).
