BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women tennis team posted an 8-1 conference victory over Suffolk on Saturday evening at the South Campus Tennis Courts.
Endicott came out of doubles play with a 3-0 advantage behind hard-fought wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
The Gulls pairings in doubles included Lejla Guster (Wethersfield, Conn.) / Ripley Uyeda (Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.) at No. 1 (8-6), Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) / Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) at No. 2 (8-0), and Isabela Miani (Southington, Conn.) / Yolanda Mendonca (Albany, N.Y.) at No. 3 (8-6).
In singles action, Guster and Uyeda clinched the match in respective order at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1) and No. 3 (6-1, 6-0), respectively.

"We had a strong week of practice and it showed today," said Endicott women's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "It was a full team effort and we are excited to keep today's momentum moving forward."
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Justine Hoover (Wallingford, Conn.) played UMass Amherst (NCAA Division I) graduate transfer Sarah Mezini (Lynnfield, Mass.) to a gritty 3-6, 6-3, 0-1 (12-14) score at No. 1 singles.
- Guster improved to 2-0 at No. 2 singles on the season.
- Uyeda won her first collegiate singles match.

Endicott (3-1, 3-1 CCC) hosts conference foe Nichols on Wednesday, September 29 at 3:30 PM. Suffolk (2-4, 1-3 CCC) travels to Roger Williams next Wednesday at 4 PM.
