WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team defeated Gordon, 6-3, on Thursday evening at the Brigham Athletic Complex.
Endicott won two of its three doubles matches to earn the upper hand headed into singles, 2-1.
Olivia Berler (Marstons Mills, Mass.) / Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) breezed to an 8-0 victory at No. 3, while Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) / Fernanda Trevino (Dallas, Texas) claimed a hard-fought 8-5 win at No. 2.
In singles play, Ana Mar Molina (Sachse, Texas) cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6, before Berler posted a 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 to give the Gulls a 4-1 advantage.
After Gordon cut its deficit to 4-3 with victories in the No. 4 and No. 3 spots, respectively, Angelina Ciardi (New Fairfield, Conn.) clinched the match with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 triumph at No. 5.

"We fought hard and had a lot of our student-athletes step up today," said Endicott women's head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "Today was a nice building block for us as we head into NEWITTs this weekend."
BEYOND THE BOX
- The Gulls have beaten the Fighting Scots in their last 21 matchups.
- Endicott's only loss on the road this season came against NCAA Division I Holy Cross.
- Shelby Henry (Lincoln, Neb.) improved to 1-1 overall at No. 1 singles today with a gutsy 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (11-9) win.
- It also marks the longest singles match Henry has played in this season.
