Endicott 9, Salve Regina 0; Gulls Head into Homecoming 6-1 in CCC

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott women's tennis team rebounded from suffering their first loss in CCC play last weekend by defeating conference opponent Salve Regina 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.  The Gulls will head into their Homecoming match against Wentworth on Saturday, October 5th at 1:00 pm with an 8-3 (6-1 CCC) record.

Salve Regina (3-6, 3-4 CCC) ends their regular season conference schedule on Friday, October 4th with a road match against Nichols starting at 4:00 pm.  

Endicott managed to sweep through doubles play behind strong performances from all three of their doubles duos.  Sophomores Suzie Newman (Dighton, Mass.) and Brittany Potter (Bedford, N.H.) finished their #3 doubles match first, winning 8-1, followed by junior captain Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) and freshman Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) handled their Seahawks opposition 8-1 at #2 doubles, and junior captains Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.) and Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine) took top doubles position 8-3.  

In singles action, all six flights went in straight sets in favor of Endicott.  Martel won the top singles flight 6-4, 6-1, Heacox took down her #2 opponent 6-4, 6-3, and Egbert won 6-0, 6-0 at the third singles spot to round out the top three.  Newman won 6-1, 6-0 at #4 singles, Rhodes was victorious 6-1, 6-2 at #5 singles, and Potter won #6 singles 6-0, 6-1.
