DUDLEY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team saw their four-match win streak and undefeated record in the CCC come to an end on Sunday with a 5-4 road loss to league rival Nichols.  The Gulls dropped to 7-3 (5-1 CCC) and into a three-way tie for first place in the conference with both Nichols and Gordon.

Endicott will end their regular season with a pair of home matches against CCC foes Salve Regina (Wednesday) and Wentworth (Saturday).  Saturday's match is part of an action-packed Homecoming Weekend for Endicott Athletics.

The Bison started off strong by taking two of three doubles matches with Endicott's third doubles team of sophomores Suzie Newman (Dighton, Mass.) and Brittany Potter (Bedford, N.H.) claiming an 8-3 win over their Nichols opponents.

Trailing 2-1 at the start of singles play, the Blue and Green rallied to tie the match 3-3 with crucial wins at #3 and #4 singles.  Junior Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine) won in straight sets 6-2, 6-1 at the #3 spot while Newman took care of her Nichols opponent 6-3, 6-0 at #4 singles.

Needing five team points to clinch the conference victory, Nichols got there first as they took the top singles flight as well as the match-clinching #5 singles win.  Potter was able to grind out a three-set win at the #6 position 4-6, 6-2, 10-3 but the match was already decided in Nichols' favor.
