SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Freshman Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) took home the CCC's first Rookie of the Week award of the fall season after posting a 2-1 overall record in her first two collegiate matches of her career.
Rhodes was 1-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles action for a Gulls women's tennis squad that went 1-1 in their first two matches of the season.
In Endicott's 8-1 triumph over Colby-Sawyer in the season and home opener, Rhodes teamed up with junior captain Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) at the #2 doubles position and won 8-4 before racking up a straight-set 6-1, 6-1 victory at the #4 singles position over her Charger opponent.
Rhodes, as well as her Endicott teammates, battled regional powerhouse Wellesley to a 9-0 loss and the freshman, specifically, suffered an 8-4 defeat at the #2 doubles flight with Heacox.
Rhodes and the rest of the Gulls will return to action on Saturday, September 7th with their conference opener against Roger Williams in Bristol, Rhode Island.
