Endicott Preps for ITA Regional Championships with 9-0 over ENC

QUINCY, Mass. – The Endicott women's tennis team remained unbeaten in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) play with a 9-0 win over Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday afternoon.  The Gulls improved to 7-2 overall and 5-0 in-conference with their victory over the Lions and move on to compete in the ITA Regional Championships at Williams College on Friday and Saturday this weekend. 

Gulls junior captains Chrissy Martel (Westbrook, Conn.) and Amy Heacox (Marion, Mass.) will represented Endicott at the ITA Regional Championships in singles play.  Draws for the tournament will be revealed on Wednesday. 

Against Eastern Nazarene, the Blue and Green mixed up their lineup with Heacox and freshman Mackenzie Rhodes (Rye, N.H.) taking the top doubles match 8-1, sophomore Suzie Newman (Dighton, Mass.) and Brittany Potter (Bedford, N.H.) winning #2 doubles 8-1, and freshmen duo Skyelar MacLeod (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Jamie Zompa (Marlborough, Mass.) taking the third doubles spot 8-1. 

Endicott took all six singles matches in straight sets over the Lions.  Heacox took her match 6-0, 6-1, junior captain Natalie Egbert (Gorham, Maine) won 6-0, 6-1, and Newman didn't drop a game winning 6-0, 6-0 in the top three flights.

Sophomores Sarah Hill (Topsham, Mass.) and Savannah Deady (Andover, Mass.) won their #4 and #5 singles matches 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2, respectively, while freshman Kelsey Lawrence (Sandwich, Mass.) won her season debut 6-0, 6-2 at the #6 spot.
