Gulls outshoot Hawks, but Roger Williams prevails 1-0

Endicott gave up just one goal in the third minute of a conference match against Roger Williams on Saturday and outshot the Hawks 19-5, but the Gulls struggled to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss on the road. 
 
The Gulls fell to 7-5 overall, 3-2 in CCC play and move on to face Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday, October 11th at 4:00 pm at Endicott Stadium.  Roger Williams improved to 6-6-1 (4-1 CCC) and continue their conference schedule with a 3:30 pm match at Western New England on Tuesday.
 
Endicott's offense appeared to be in full swing throughout the entire game as the Gulls outshot the Hawks 9-3 in the first half and 10-2 in the second half.  Endicott also held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks, including seven attempts in the second half while Roger Williams attempted none. 
 
The Gulls had six of their shots blocked by Hawks defenders and six of them saved by sophomore goalie Stephanie Jaques (Burlington, Vt.). 
 
Roger Williams scored the only goal they would need just 2:32 into the game after Endicott keeper Katie Donnelly (Madison, Conn.) mishandled the ball after leaving the net and a cross from Hawks forward Katie Fusaro (Hopkinton, Mass.) to Noelle Marston (Kingston, Mass.) was finished to the back of the net. 
 
Endicott's Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) led the team with six shot attempts while Vanessa Caruccio (Winthrop, Mass.) had three attempts on net that were saved including one in the final 20 seconds of regulation. 
 
Endicott's defensive backfield of Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.), Lauren Todd (Newfields, N.H.) and Sarah Person (Holden, Mass.) held Roger Williams to just five shots, three of which were blocked.
