PALM BEACH CITY, Fla. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Hope, 13-8 on Thursday night at the Publix Sports Park.
Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.) led the way for Endicott with four goals, as Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.) and Mia Samarjian (Stow, Mass.) both added two tallies. Ava Amara (Southbury, Conn.), Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.), Grace McAfee (Marmora, N.J.), Sophia Notine (Arundel, Maine), and Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.) all added solo tallies.
Payton Quirk (Nahant, Mass.) made 16 saves in the victory. As a defense, Endicott caused 13 turnovers, with Kaitlyn DiLoreto (East Lyme, Conn.) leading the way with three.
The Gulls raced out to a 7-0 halftime lead thanks to goals from Sheehan (x2), Black, Notine, Amara, Belleville, and Samarjian. Endicott's defense was stout the entire first half allowing just 12 shots and forcing Hope into nine turnovers.
Smith and McAfee's goals in the third quarter pushed the lead up to nine before Hope netted their first two goals of the game. The Gulls responded with a three goal run as Sheehan, Black, and Samarjian to open the lead up to 12-2 with 6:58 to play in the third quarter.
The Flying Dutch ended the game scoring six of the final seven goals but the Gulls were able to secure the victory, 13-8.

- First-ever meeting between the two programs.

WHAT'S NEXT
Endicott (4-3) opens up conference play as they host UNE on Wednesday, March 26 at 4 PM. Hope (3-4) continues non-conference action as they visit DePauw University on Saturday, March 29 at 1 PM.
