2025 Women's Lacrosse Preview; Gulls Selected First In CNE Preseason Poll

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team opens up its 2025 campaign at home on Saturday, February 22 against No. 18 MIT at 3 PM. Here's a look at the upcoming season.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Gulls were picked first overall in the Conference of New England (CNE) preseason coaches poll. Endicott received nine out of a possible 10 first-place votes.
  • Endicott has advanced to the CCC Championship game each of the last eight seasons, four of which they have won (2017, 2018, 2019, 2024). The Blue and Green lead the CCC with a league-best 12 conference championships.
  • Head coach Maureen Spellman enters year eight at the helm. She holds a 75-35 (.682) overall record and a 43-2 (.956) conference record. 
  • 2x reigning conference Defensive Player of the Year Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) is just 11 wins away from being the all-time leader in wins.
  • Along with Akins, the Gulls return six All-Conference honorees including Rookie of the Year Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.)Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.)Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.)Lily Troupe (Newburyport, Mass.), and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.).
