Women's Lacrosse Upends Wentworth, 24-2

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team defeated Wentworth, 24-2, in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action on Wednesday evening at Sweeney Field.

Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.), Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.), and Clare Wendell (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) paced the Gulls with a game-high three goals.

Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.), Maggie Holt (Cumberland Foreside, Maine.), Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.), and Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.) all added two tallies while, Emerson Clark (Gloucester, Mass.), Annabelle Gray (Londonderry, Vt.), Gilly Hartt (Old Saybrook, Conn.), Grace McAfee (Marmona, N.J.), Caroline Rocco (North Grafton, Mass.), Devin Sweeney (Burlington, Mass.), and Kelsey Sullivan (Nashville, Tenn.) each registered solo goals, respectively.

 In goal, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) and Payton Quirk (Nahant, Mass.) split halves in cage, coming up with one and four saves apiece. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Gulls are now 12-0 all-time against Wentworth.
  • Endicott is 6-3 on the road this season.
  • Sheehan added five assists, her second consecutive game with seven points.
  • Napolitano now ranks fifth all-time in points with 236 points.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (10-7, 6-1 CCC) finishes the regular season as the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CCC Tournament. The Gulls have earned a bye and will return to action when they host a CCC Semifinal game on Wednesday, May 1 with a time and opponent to be determined. Wentworth (0-12, 0-6 CCC) sees its season come to a close.
