IWLCA names three Gulls to Academic Honor Roll
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) honored 184 student-athletes across 81 institutions for the 2010 Academic Honor Roll and three members of the Endicott women’s lacrosse program were named.  Juniors \#Carin Czerniawski\# (Monroe, Conn.), \#Brittany Kane\# (Scarborough, Maine), and \#Molly Sowles\# (Cumberland, Maine) were all named to the honor roll.

Every year, the IWLCA selects student-athletes who are of junior year status or higher, possess a GPA at least 3.5, and are in the top ten percent of their own squad.

Among the 184 listed on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, 45 were members of teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament including three from national champion Salisbury and two from national runner-up Hamilton. Endicott is among those that reached the NCAA Tournament, having won The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) title for the fifth straight season. The Gulls traveled to California for their first round game, but were defeated by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges 21-18 and finished the season with a 16-5 mark.

Carin Czerniawski, a junior Business major and midfielder, finished sixth on the team in points (31) after scoring 20 goals and tallying 11 assists this past spring. She led all Gulls with 59 ground balls and was fourth on the team in draw controls with 30. Czerniawski started in 20 of 21 games for the Blue and Green.

Junior Sport Management major and defender Brittany Kane started in all 21 contests for the Gulls and registered 55 ground balls, which was good for second on the team. Kane also scored a goal and had an assist.

Molly Sowles, a Psychology major and midfielder, was also a major factor in the powerful Gulls offense that ranked third in all of NCAA DIII in points (493) and 11th in goals per game (16.14). She scored 22 goals and had seven assists in her junior season. She started 19 of 21 games.
