Pair of Gulls earn TCCC weekly honors
BEVERLY, Mass. – A pair of Endicott College women’s lacrosse players were honored by The Commonwealth Coast Conference this week as junior \#Kellie Cunningham\# (Derry, N.H.) was named TCCC Defensive Player of the Week and freshman \#Kelly Tierney\# (South Hadley, Mass.) was named the conference’s Rookie of the Week as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday. Cunningham and Tierney helped lead the Gulls (1-0, 1-0 TCCC) to a 21-2 win over Anna Maria College on Thursday night.

Cunningham grabbed a game-high six draw controls and added a goal, assist, and caused turnover in the Gulls TCCC opener against Anna Maria. Cunningham and the Gulls defense held the AMCATS to two goals in just six shots on goal.

In her first collegiate game, Tierney was a perfect 4-for-4 on shot attempts, scoring her first four goals in the season opener over Anna Maria. Tierney also added an assist and three ground balls in her debut.

The Blue and Green return to action on Thursday as the Gulls host Babson College in a non-conference tilt at 4:00 p.m. in Beverly, Mass.
