Micho, Gulls charge back into TCCC Finals

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott’s \#Kristen Micho\# (Syracuse, N.Y.) scored a game-high five goals and added an assist as the top-seeded Gulls downed Western New England College, 19-10, in a women’s lacrosse TCCC semifinal game on Wednesday evening in Beverly, Mass. Endicott will host Roger Williams University, who topped the University of New England in double overtime, 13-12, earlier in the day.

Endicott opened an early 3-1 lead before the Golden Bears cut the deficit down to one off a rebound goal from Jackie Gannon (Saunderstown, R.I.). The Gulls responded by scoring three straight goals to push the lead to 6-2. Western New England clawed its way back, scoring three of the game’s next four goals, however Endicott ended the half with back-to-back tallies to take a 9-5 lead into the intermission.

After trading three goals in the first nine minutes of the second half, Endicott scored five unanswered to blow the game open at 15-7. WNEC tried to hang around, again scoring three of the next four, however the Blue and Green ended the game on a three-goal burst to secure the 19-10 win.

\#Kristen Micho\# led all scorers with five goals and one assist, while \#Morgan DeShaw\# (Danville, N.H.) had four goals and one helper. \#Valerie Feldman\# (Albany, N.Y.) scored three times and dished out one assist, while \#Kellie Cunningham\# (Derry, N.H.) added a pair of goals. \#Leah Neff\# (South Berwick, Maine) made 10 saves for the hosts.

Lindsey Fenton (Pelham, Mass.) paced the WNEC offensive effort with four goals, while Jeanmarie Barbato (Huntington Station, N.Y.) had three goals and two assists. Marissa Bonitatibus (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) had 10 stops for the Golden Bears.

Endicott won the groundball battle, 37-22. The Gulls scored on six of their 11 free-position shots and held a 37-29 shots advantage overall. Western New England did dominate the draw control category, taking 22 of 31 attempts including 19 from junior Marisa Hebert (Saco, Maine).

Endicott will attempt to win its fifth consecutive TCCC title on Saturday when the Gulls host Roger Williams. The Gulls clipped the Seahawks by the score of 9-7 back on March 27th in Bristol, R.I.
