Gulls breeze past Nichols, 21-4
DUDLEY, Mass. – Endicott College’s \#Kelly Tierney\# (South Hadley, Mass.) recorded six points on four goals and two assists to lead the Gulls past Nichols College, 21-4, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference action on Saturday afternoon in Dudley, Mass. With the win, the Blue and Green improve to 9-2 overall and remain undefeated in conference action to stay atop the standings with a 7-0 record. Nichols, meanwhile, dips to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in league play.

Endicott sophomore midfielder \#Morgan DeShaw\# (Danville, N.H.) added two goals and three assists for five points, while \#Kristen Micho\# (Syracuse, N.Y.) chipped in with four on three goals and a helper. In total, seven Gulls players recorded multiple point games, and 12 struck the net, including first career goals from \#Stacia Geno\# (White River Jct., Vt.), \#Caitlin Pratt\# (Bow, N.H.) and \#Gabrielle Boyle\# (Hingham, Mass.), who scored two.

Nichols found the net four times in the second half, getting all four from different players, including a first career marker from Ericka Silvia (Middletown, R.I.).

Nichols goalkeeper Mary Michaud (Agawam, Mass.) finished with 14 saves, including eight in the opening half. Endicott netminder \#Leah Neff\# (South Berwick, Maine) stopped two shots, both in the opening frame.

The Gulls scored the opening goals :22 seconds apart and led, 3-0, after five minutes of play en route to a 14-0 halftime lead after netting three goals in five minutes to close the opening period.

Silvia struck first for Nichols in the second half with a slow roller at 3:46, and the teams traded free position goals after that.

Endicott scored the next two for a 17-2 lead at the 16:33 mark, but Nichols’ Brittany Tremont (Guilford, Conn.) and Chelsea Shaughnessy (Halifax, Mass.) traded scores with the Gulls before the visiting team ended the game on a 3-0 run.

Endicott held a 41-10 shot advantage in the game and won the groundball battle by a 24-14 margin. Nichols did convert on both of its free position attempts, while Endicott was 3-for-6.

The Blue and Green return to action on Tuesday when the Gulls begin a five-game home stand by hosting Colby-Sawyer in a 4:00 p.m. TCCC game. Nichols is back in action on Tuesday when the Bison host Gordon in a conference game at 7:00 p.m.
