BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team (19-2) will face off against Husson (27-1) in the opening game of the NCAA Regional hosted in Bangor, Maine on Friday, May 21 at 10 am. Here is a preview of Friday's contest.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- No. 6 Eastern Connecticut State, Tufts Brandeis, and Babson will be the other schools playing in the Bangor, Maine Regional.
- This will be the first matchup between Endicott and Husson since 2009. Endicott won that contest, 11-6.
- Nationally as a team, Endicott ranks fourth in scoring, sixth in slugging percentage (.581), eighth in on-base percentage (.448) 13th in batting average (.374), and 16th in Earned Run Average (ERA) (1.73).
- Nationally as a team, Husson ranks tenth in ERA (1.61), 16th in on-base percentage (.432), 20th in scoring, and 29th in batting average (.362),
- Both teams enter the NCAA Tournament after winning their respective conference tournaments.
WHAT'S NEXT
The winner of Friday's contest will move on to face the loser of the Brandeis, and No. 6 Eastern Connecticut State game on Saturday, May 22 at 10 am, while the loser of the Endicott Husson contest, will face either Babson or Tufts on Friday, May 21 at 4 PM.
