2021 Endicott Softball Season Preview

2021 Endicott Softball Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott softball team opens up their season at a home against Suffolk University on Friday, April 2. Here's a preview of the Gulls' upcoming season.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Endicott enters their 2021 campaign with a 692-297-12 overall record (.697) since the program started in 1994.
  • The Gulls return two all-conference student-athletes to the fold in Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.).
  • Endicott has qualified for postseason play for 20 straight seasons (excludes 2020) with 11 of those postseason appearances having resulted in Commonwealth Coast Conference championships.
  • Endicott will play in "Pod B" against Gordon, Suffolk, the University of New England (UNE), and Wentworth. Weekend doubleheaders will count towards the conference standings, while mid-week games will not. Any games played against non-pod opponents also will not affect the conference standings. Any additional games against opponents in Endicott's pod will not factor into the conference standings. Regular mercy rules still apply (8 runs after 5 innings).
  • Postseason play begins May 1. For more information on this year's schedule and the postseason, format read the notes section below.

NOTES

The top-2 teams from each pod will qualify for playoff competition based on winning percentages. A team must complete 50% of all scheduled conference games to qualify. Teams short of the 50% mark will be replaced by the next qualified team in the pod. Teams that are shut down will ONLY be replaced by the next qualified team in the pod BEFORE the tournament beings.
