BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team split a pair of non-conference games with Suffolk University on Wednesday night at East Boston Memorial Park. The Gulls took game one, 8-6, but fell in the nightcap, 11-10 (eight inn.).
GAME ONE: Endicott 8, Suffolk 6
WP: Gwen Stafford (Shoreham, Vt.) – 2 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
LP: Leina Belog (Beaverton, Ore.) – 3 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 3 K
SV: Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) – 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K
Trailing 6-4 in the sixth inning, Endicott put up a four-spot on the scoreboard to take the lead for good.
Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) highlighted the frame with a two-out go-ahead two-run double before Hanchuk took over in the circle closing the door on the win with a pair of scoreless frames. In the sixth, Hanchuk struck out the side after a leadoff error and went 1-2-3 in the seventh for her first career save.
The Gulls also saw Misiaszek, Meghan Connor (St. Albans, Vt.), and Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.) all hit solo homers in the victory.
GAME TWO: Suffolk 11, Endicott 10 (8 inn.)
WP: Constance Phelan (Longwood, Fla.) – 2 1/3 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
LP: Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.) – 1 2/3 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

Facing a 10-9 deficit in the bottom of the eighth inning, Suffolk earned the walk-off victory via a two-run double to right field by Ashley Zulla (Columbus, N.J.).
Endicott held leads of 4-3, 5-3, 6-3, 9-8, and 10-9 in the loss.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- Misiaszek went 6-for-8 with one run scored and four RBI in the doubleheader.
- Only three of Endicott's 11 runs given up in game two were earned (only 7 of 17 earned for the DH).
- The Gulls are 5-1 all-time against Suffolk.
