ENDICOTT SOFTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE HISTORY | CCC SOFTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's softball team placed eight student-athletes on the All-CCC rosters, the league office announced earlier today.
The number marks the most honorees since 2014 and the most under fourth-year head coach Katie Bettencourt.
Highlighting the list for the Gulls are Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) who earned Player of the Year honors, Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) who was named Pitcher of the Year, and Meghan Connor (St. Albans, Vt.) who secured Rookie of the Year laurels.
Endicott also saw Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.), Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.), Carly Marchitto (Orange, Conn.), Keelin Spencer (San Jose, Calif.), Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.), Favreau, Hanchuk, and Connor collect All-Conference accolades.
CCC PLAYER OF THE YEAR / ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Adrianna Favreau | Sr. | 2B | Tewksbury, Mass.
Favreau becomes the first student-athlete since 2011 to earn CCC Player of the Year honors. The senior currently leads the team in slugging percentage (.970), extra-base hits (15), is tied for first in doubles (7), and ranks second in batting average (.530), RBIs (31), home runs (6), and hits (35). The former CCC Rookie of the Year is currently on a nine-game hitting streak and has compiled 11 multi-hit games up to this point. Meanwhile, in the CCC she ranks first in runs (32), total bases (64), on-base percentage (.605), and slugging percentage, and is second in home runs, RBI's, and batting average, and third in hits (35).
CCC PITCHER OF THE YEAR / ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Maria Hanchuk | So. | P | South Windsor, Conn.
After a freshman year where she did not get to make any appearances, Hanchuk has been dominant in her first year against collegiate hitting. The sophomore lefty leads the Gulls in Earned Run Average (ERA), (0.29), wins (8), and strikeouts (72). In the CCC Hanchuk ranks first in strikeouts, strikeouts per game (10.29), batting average against (.144), and ERA, and is second in wins. Highlighting Hanchuk's individual performances this season were a 10 strikeout complete-game performance in a 13-0 win over Wentworth, and a 13 strikeout complete-game in a 4-0 win over Wentworth. Her 13 strikeout performance ranks tied for fifth all-time in a single game.
CCC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR / ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Meghan Connor | Fr. | C | St. Albans, Vt.
Connor is now the second Endicott Rookie of the Year honoree in the last three seasons. The St. Albans native has had an impressive Rookie campaign up this point, leading the team in home runs (9), and RBI's (33). She is tied for second in extra-base hits (14) and is third in batting average (.412), hits (28), and slugging percentage (.882). Individually this season, the freshman has recorded a hit in every game but two, and at one point had a hit in 14 straight games. In the CCC the All-CCC first team member ranked first in home runs and RBIs.
ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM
Michaela Hamill | Gr. | P | Lynn, Mass.
Hamill was impressive for the Gulls in the circle this season earning her first career All-CCC First Team nod. The right-hander ranks second in the CCC in ERA (1.11), and shutouts (3), and fifth in the conference in batting average against (.250). Her individual pitching performances were highlighted by her strong appearance in the CCC championship game, she did not allow a single runner to reach second base, recorded the last seven outs of the game in order, and registered three 1-2-3 innings. She also held Golden Bears' leadoff hitters in an inning to a 0-for-7 showing on the day.
Lauren Misiaszek | Jr. | OF | Londonderry, N.H.
Misiaszek is now a two-time All-CCC honoree with the league announcement earlier today. The junior outfielder has been impressive in her second season playing with the Gulls leading the team in batting average (.549), hits (39), doubles (7), and triples (3). She ranks second on the Gulls on-base percentage (.549), slugging percentage (.901), and extra-base hits (14). Most impressively Misiaszek has only struck out once in 71 at-bats. In the CCC she ranks first in hits, doubles, triples, batting average, and fielding percentage (1.000) and ranks second in on-base percentage, and slugging percentage.
ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM
Carly Marchitto | Jr. | 1B | Orange, Conn.
Marchitto earned her first All-CCC honor with the announcement from the league today. She leads the team in putouts (93) and had a career-high .980 fielding percentage. At the plate, the junior ranked fourth in batting average (.362), and hits (17). Meanwhile, in the CCC her 93 putouts were good for ninth overall.
Keelin Spencer | Sr. | SS | San Jose, Calif.
In what is her first season for the Gulls, Spencer has hit the ground running with a.395 batting average, a .489 on-base percentage, and a .500 slugging percentage. Her 15 hits are good for fifth on the team and at one point this season, the first-time All-CCC honoree was on a six-game hitting streak. In the field, she fielded at a .941 clip, with 12 putouts and 20 assists.
ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM
Katie Watts | So. | OF | Swampscott, Mass.
After not being able to compete at all last year, Watts impressively finds her name on the All-CCC list after her first season of collegiate play. The sophomore so far has hit .319 this season with 15 hits and has only struck out three times.
WHAT'S NEXT
After defeating Western New England in the CCC Championship, Endicott (19-2) awaits its fate in the NCAA Division III Softball tournament which is set to be announced on May 17.
