SPORTS IMPORTS/AVCA WEEKLY RELEASE
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's volleyball senior right side Donovan Dey (Fairport, N.Y.) has been named the Sports Imports/American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Men's Division III National Player of the Week.
Today's announcement marks Dey's first career Sports Imports/AVCA Men's Division III Player of Week honor and the program's fifth overall. Dey is joined on the illustrious list by Endicott Hall of Famer A.J. Witkofsky '10 (Scotia, N.Y.) and current teammate Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.). Witkofsky has earned the award a program-record three times (March 31, 2008; February 1, 2010; February 22, 2010), while Lipton was received his honor on January 30, 2018.
As for Dey, the senior right side guided No. 14 nationally ranked Endicott to a 2-0 record last week, which was highlighted by a 3-1 win over No. 13 nationally ranked Wentworth.
In those two matches, Dey posted 4.43 kills per set, a .474 hitting percentage, 0.29 service aces, 0.86 digs, 1.00 blocks, and 5.4 points against No. 13 Wentworth (3-1) and Illinois Tech (3-0).
Meanwhile, his best effort of the week came against No. 13 Wentworth as Dey posted a career-high 20 kills on 34 swings for a staggering .556 hitting percentage. The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week also posted 11 kills (.348) and five blocks (two solo) versus Illinois Tech.

Endicott (7-2, 0-0 NECC) opens up conference play on Saturday, February 15 at 3 PM.
