Endicott ties school record with 19th win of the season.

Feb. 20, 2004

BOSTON, Mass. - Freshman forward Nemanja Marinkovic (Houston, Tex.) scored 15 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out seven assists as Endicott (19-4, 13-2 Commonwealth Coast Conference) defeated Wentworth (5-18, 5-10) in a CCC contest at Tansey Gym. The nineteen wins matches the school record for wins set last year.

The first 12 minutes of the game featured four ties and three lead changes before the Gulls led by four (23-19) on a pair of free throws by sophomore forward Matt George (Dover, N.H.). After the Leopards pulled within one (23-22) on a senior guard David Iannotti (Sandwich, Mass.) three pointer, the teams traded baskets and Endicott held a 25-24 advantage with 4:45 left in the half. The Gulls then used a 13-0 run to close out the half and led by 14 at the break.

After Endicott opened the lead to 16 to start the half, Wentworth would eventually cut the lead back to 13 with 18:15 left. A 10-0 Gulls run over the next 3:00 would increase the lead to 54-31 and put the game out of reach.

Senior guard Jeremy Currier (Hampstead, N.H.) chipped in with 14 points for Endicott, while George and junior forward James Leveque (Dorchester, Mass.) scored 13 points apiece.

Wentworth senior forward Carmino DeMercurio (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) led all scorers with 18 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Endicott closes out it's regular season Saturday at the University of New England at 3:00pm.
