The Endicott Gulls grabbed their 17th win of the season, overcoming poor shooting and the fiery conference foe, New England College. NEC entered the game with only two wins but was able to shoot the ball nearly 50% to stay competitive the entire night. On the other hand, the Gulls made less than 38% of their shots but outrebounded NEC on the offensive glass 15-4 providing suffiently more opportunities to survive the match.
Pete Nelson and Edin Zajmovic paced the NEC with 13 points a piece. Antoine Sylvia contributed 12 points and 8 rebounds. NEC took advantage of 17 Gull turnovers including 3 steals by Nelson to compensate for loosing the rebounding battle but it was not enough on senior night at the Post Center.
Jeremy Currier(17), Josh Oxton(15), Zach Ellis(12) and James Leveque(10) all reached double figures in scoring in the win. Currier and Oxton both contributed 4 assists as well as 5 and 4 rebounds respectively. Nemanja Marinkovic led Gulls on the glass with 10 rebounds. Endicott won a school record 8th game in a row. The Endicott men hit the road against Eastern Nazerene on tuesday for the first of three conference road games.
