Dudley, MA- In a critical cross over league game the Endicott gulls defeated the Bison of Nichols College 74-65. Nichols was 12-3 coming into the game and leading the South Division of the Commonwealth Coast Conference with a record of 4-2. Endicott came out shooting early as five different players made three point field goals in the first half.
Nichols started in a zone defense and Tom Foster and Jeremy Currier were each able to get free for two three point field goals. Matt George, Josh Oxton and Zach Ellis also connected from long range allowing Endicott to take a 33-23 lead at the half.
Nichols made a run in the second half cutting the lead to 3, 44-41 with a little over nine minutes to go. Endicott then answered with a 5-0 run sparked by another three point shot by Tom Foster. The Gulls were able to hold on down the stretch as they executed their offense and found ways to score inside. Nemanja Marinkovic scored 8 of his 14 points in the last four minutes helping to secure the victory. The victory improves Endicott's overall record to 10-4, 4-2 in the league.
Endicott relied on a balanced attack as they placed four players in double figures. The Gulls were led by Josh Oxton with 17 points and 4 assists. Nemanja Marinkovic had another double double as he contributed 14 points and 12 rebounds. Jeremy Currier and Tom Foster rounded out the scoring with 14 and 13 points. Nichols college was led by Sophomore Matt Pezzullo with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Nichols also received 21 points from Ryan Moszynski.
Endicott returns to action at home Thursday night at 8pm versus the Engineers of Wentworth Institute of Technology.
