Gulls Place Four Student-Athletes On All-CCC Teams; Allen Named Co-Defensive POY, Cogliano Co-Rookie of the Year

CCC FIELD HOCKEY ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE 

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- The Endicott field hockey team is pleased to recognize four Gulls named to the 2015 Field Hockey Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-CCC teams, as well as Co-Defensive Player of the Year and Co-Rookie of the Year winners, as announced today by the conference office.

Senior midfielder Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been selected as the conference Co-Defensive Player of the Year, sharing the honor with senior defender Allison Gold (Greenlawn, N.Y.) of Salve Regina University. 

Freshman forward Sophia Cogliano (Saugus, Mass.) took home Co-Rookie of the Year after leading the Gulls with 13 goals (28 points), sharing the honor with freshman defender Kersey Boulay (Liberty, Maine) from the University of New England.

Senior forward Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.) was named to the All-CCC First Team as she is second on the team with 27 points (11 goals, five assists). Allen earned an All-CCC First Team nod in addition to her Co-Defensive Player of the Year award. Allen paces the team with a career-high 10 assists.

Sophomore defender Emylee Wood (Kensington, N.H.) was named to the All-CCC First Team as a strong contributor to the team with six goals, two assists, and three defensive saves. Cogliano earned a place on the All-CCC Second Team and took home Co-Rookie of the Year honors.

Allen and Bresnahan were 2014 All-CCC members of the First and Second Teams, respectively. Wood and Cogliano are first time honorees.

The last time Endicott boasted a Defensive Player of the Year was goalkeeper Taylor Teixeira in 2012, while Cheka Ventura (Lawrence, Mass.) earned Rookie of the Year in 2014.

The Gulls (10-9 overall) earned the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament after posting an 8-4 record in CCC play. Endicott will travel to Middleton, R.I. to take on No. 2 seed Salve Regina (16-3, 10-2 CCC) in the CCC Semifinals on Wednesday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m.
