UMass Dartmouth Edges Endicott, 2-1

UMass Dartmouth Edges Endicott, 2-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – A redirection goal in the waning minutes by senior forward Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.) avoided the shutout, but it wasn't enough as the Endicott field hockey team fell 2-1 to the visiting UMass Dartmouth Corsairs Thursday night at North Field.

With the loss, Endicott drops to 2-2 overall (0-0 CCC), while UMass Dartmouth improves to 2-1, (0-0 Little East).

Sophomore forward Delaney Burns (Wayne, N.J.) sparked the Corsairs' offense as she found the back of the cage twice and provided all the scoring UMass Dartmouth needed to put away the Gulls on this rainy night in Beverly.

Burns deposited her second goal of the season in the 34th minute with an assist by senior forward/midfielder Jill Levrault (Somerset, Mass.) and banked her team-leading third season goal into the back right off a pass from senior midfielder Caroline Daubitz (Feeding Hills, Mass.) in the 46th minute.

Bresnahan gave the Gulls a ray of hope with her third goal of the season on a deflected shot she tipped into the back right of the cage from senior midfielder Ashleigh Allen (Glastonbury, Conn.) with seconds less than three minutes remaining in the game.
