Bresnahan Scores In Third Consecutive Game To Help Gulls Avoid Shutout In 4-1 Loss To Colby College

Bresnahan Scores In Third Consecutive Game To Help Gulls Avoid Shutout In 4-1 Loss To Colby College

BEVERLY, Mass. – A redirection goal in the final 10 minutes by senior forward Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.) avoided the shutout, but it wasn't enough as the Endicott field hockey team fell 4-1 to the visiting Colby College Mules Sunday afternoon in non-conference action at North Field.

With the loss, Endicott drops to 2-3 overall (0-0 CCC), while Colby improves to 2-1, (0-1 NESCAC).

Senior midfielder Megan Fortier (Falmouth Maine) got the Mules on the board early (unassisted) as she emerged from a pile in front of the cage and sent the ball into the back corner in the 10th minute to give Colby a 1-0 lead it would take into the halftime huddle.

Senior forward Misha Strage (Westport, Conn.) registered her second marker of the season (unassisted) in the 41st minute, followed by junior midfielder Caroline Ferguson (Weston, Mass.) who took a shot to the back right off a pass from freshman midfielder Anna Rudinski (Morristown, N.J.) in the 49th minute.

Rudinski responded with a goal of her own in the 61st minute off a cross from Fortier from the left side to give the Mules a 4-0 advantage.

Bresnahan took a rebounded ball and sent it to the back of the cage for her team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 62nd minute to help the Gulls avoid being shut out.
