Field Hockey Team and 16 Members Earn NFHCA Academic Awards

CHANDLER, Ariz. -- The Endicott field hockey team and sixteen of its members have been honored by the National Field Hockey Coach's Association for their work in the classroom. 

For the sixth consecutive season, the Gulls earned the NFHCA team academic award, presented to teams who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall 2012 semester. All six members of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) earned the NFHCA Team Academic Award.

In addition, sixteen members of the CCC Champion Gulls were named to the NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. Members of this team have posted an individual GPA of 3.30 or higher during the fall semester.

Seniors Melissa Enright (York Beach, Maine) and Taylor Teixeira (Exeter, N.H.) were highlighted for earning a spot on the National Academic Squad for all four years of their collegiate career. 

Joining Enright and Teixeira were Morgan Bresnahan (South Burlington, Vt.), Cassie DeSimone (Reading, Mass.), Elizabeth Farr (Rindge, N.H.), Brianna Fullam (Southampton, N.Y.), MacKenzie Hurts (Gilford, N.H.), Meghan Labbe (), Elizabeth Leclair (Wilton, Mane), Taylor Matties (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Kristen O'Brien (New Boston, N.H.), Taylor Przybylski (South Windsor, Conn.), Rachel Reints (Rochester, Mass.), Lizetta Solarik (Carmel, N.Y.), Stacie Teevens (Westborough, Mass.) and Kathryn Walker (Middlebury, Conn.).

Teevens is making her third consecutive appearance on the National Academic Squad, while Farr, Hurst and Solarik each are honored for the second straight year. 

The Gulls recorded a 15-5 record and a 9-1 mark in conference en route to defending their CCC Championship and making the program's second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
