Thornberg’s Record-Breaking Week Recognized by CCC

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Endicott forward Hannah Thornberg (Oakland, Maine) is coming off one of her best weeks in a consistently strong season and has been honored as the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) field hockey Offensive Player of the Week.

Thornberg earned this award for the third time this year when the winners were announced Monday afternoon by CCC commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

The senior forward scored five goals this week and had a stick in another, as she tallied 11 points this week for the Gulls. Along the way, she scored twice in a mid-week game against University of England. The goals, her 47th and 48th of her career, put her into sole possession of the Endicott all-time career goals record.

On Saturday, Thornberg celebrated Senior Day by scoring a hat trick and adding an assist for a seven-point day as the Gulls beat Salve Regina 4-1.

Endicott is 11-4 on the season and sits at the top of the Commonwealth Coast Conference with a 7-1 record. The Gulls will finish their regular season with two more CCC games, a home game against Western New England on Tuesday night (6:00 PM) and a road game at Nichols at 11:00 AM next Saturday.
